Why Do Motorcycles Need To Clean The Fuel Injectors?
As one of the key components of the electronic fuel injection engine, the performance of the engine will be seriously affected by the working quality of the Motorcycle Fuel Injector. The blockage of the fuel injector will seriously affect the performance of the motorcycle. The reason for the blockage is that the carbon deposits in the engine are deposited on the fuel injector or the impurities in the fuel block the fuel injector passage.
After the motorcycle has been running for a period of time, a certain amount of sediment will form in the fuel system. The formation of sediments is directly related to the fuel of the motorcycle: first, because the gasoline itself contains colloids and impurities, or dust and impurities brought in during storage and transportation, sludge-like sediments are formed in the motorcycle tank, fuel inlet pipe and other parts over time; secondly, the unstable components in the gasoline react at a certain temperature to form colloid and resin-like viscous substances. When these viscous substances are burned in the fuel injector, intake valve and other parts, the sediments will become hard carbon deposits. In addition, due to urban traffic congestion, motorcycles are often in low speed and idling state, which will aggravate the formation and accumulation of these sediments. Fuel system sediments are very harmful. Sediments will clog the needle valve and valve hole of the injector, affect the working performance of the precision parts of the electronic injection system, and lead to a decrease in power performance; Sediments will form carbon deposits on the intake valve, causing it to close loosely, resulting in unstable engine idle speed, increased fuel consumption and worse exhaust emissions; Sediments will form hard carbon deposits on the piston top and cylinder head, etc., which are prone to engine knock and other faults due to the high heat capacity and poor thermal conductivity of carbon deposits; In addition, it will shorten the life of the three-way catalytic converter.
The working quality of the injector plays a fundamental role in the power of each engine. Due to poor fuel, the injector does not work properly, causing serious carbon deposits in the cylinder; the cylinder barrel and piston ring wear faster, resulting in unstable idle speed, increased fuel consumption, weak acceleration, difficult starting and excessive emissions. In severe cases, the injector will be completely blocked and the engine will be damaged. Therefore, the injector should be cleaned regularly. Long-term or frequent cleaning of the nozzle will have a bad effect. As for the cleaning time, it should be determined according to the condition of the motorcycle and the quality of the fuel usually added. Generally speaking, it is about 40,000 kilometers. If the motorcycle is in good condition and the fuel quality is good, it can be extended to 60,000 kilometers.
When the fuel injector is slightly blocked, it will also have a certain impact on the condition of the motorcycle. Sometimes such a fault will occur: when the motorcycle is in the first gear and starts, the motorcycle will shake a little. When it is in the high gear and accelerated, this phenomenon disappears. Assuming that the various sensors on the motorcycle are working normally, the throttle valve has been cleaned, and the circuit is normal, it is very likely that the fuel injector is slightly blocked. But when accelerating in a high gear, it is possible that the slight colloid is sprayed away (dissolved) again, and the performance of the motorcycle is restored. In the case of such a slight blockage of the fuel injector, it is generally not necessary to clean it. Because the slight colloid can be dissolved.
When the gasoline quality is poor or the motorcycle has been running for a long time, if the fuel injector is not cleaned for a long time, the blockage phenomenon will be more serious, causing poor fuel injection, poor injection angle and atomization, resulting in poor engine operation at idle speed, acceleration or full load, resulting in reduced engine power, increased fuel consumption, increased emission pollution, and even engine failure. Therefore, the fuel injector should be cleaned and tested regularly to ensure that it works well.
